Our framework
UPLINKD is the blueprint, and it is in the name.
One operating model across software, design, search, growth, security and content, so the discipline does not change when the domain does, and three ways to start once you want it pointed at something.
the blueprint
Understand, prepare, then locate, interpret, navigate, know, deliver.
The back five letters of UPLINKD are the cycle, and the two in front are the framing. It reads the same in every domain, which is the point: the discipline does not change when the work does.
Understand
The objective and the stakes. What outcome, for whom, why now.
Prepare
The ground: the data, the context, the constraints, the plan.
Locate
Find the real problem or exposure, not the surface one.
Interpret
Bring senior judgment and the right data to bear on it.
Navigate
Choose and execute the right move, control or pattern.
Know
Prove it holds. Measure and test it. Nothing ships unverified, and this is the letter that gets skipped.
Deliver
Ship it, document it and defend it over time.
per domain
The same cycle, read in your discipline.
It rotates. What changes is what counts as evidence in the Know step, which is why the method survives the domain.
Design
Locate the job the interface is failing, navigate to a pattern and know it by testing the flow rather than by admiring the mockup.
Search and growth
Locate the query the buyer actually types, interpret the intent behind it and know it by rank and conversion, not by volume of output.
Security
Locate the exposure, navigate to the control that closes it and know it by testing the control rather than by citing the policy that requires it.
Content
Locate the question, interpret what the reader already knows and know it by whether the piece answers it without a second search.
Software
Spec first, stay dry, verify before you land. The engineering expression of the same seven steps.
Governance
Locate the decision that needs an owner, navigate to who holds it and know it by whether the record would survive someone reading it a year later.
how we start
Three ways in, smallest first.
The framework is how we work once we start. This is how starting works. Most engagements open with a diagnostic, because it is the cheapest way for both sides to find out whether we are the right people.
Diagnostic
Fixed scope, days not weeks. We take an AI feature that is flaky, work out why and hand back a prioritised fix list you could give to anyone, including someone else.
Build
The project itself, scoped to something that ships and keeps working. Staged, with a working thing at the end of each stage rather than only at the end.
Retained
Once it is live: monitoring, reliability work and the iteration that follows real usage. Monthly, and it ends when you say so.
